Motorists using Route 159 between routes 143 and 140 will notice delays beginning today as work begins along the roadway. The Illinois Department of Transportation will have flaggers in place to maintain two-way traffic as shoulder replacement and surface removal takes place. After this phase ends, a new surface will be laid during overnight hours. The project is expected to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.
While work takes place, IDOT asks motorists to be patient, reduce speed and use caution when traveling near and through the work zone. For more information on this project and other upcoming roadwork visit http://www.idot.illinois.gov/
