Law enforcement agencies across the state have beefed up patrols ahead of the Labor Day holiday. The Illinois State Police have joined forces with more than 250 local departments as they look to reduce the number of distracted and drunk drivers on Illinois' roadways according to Illinois Department Transportation Spokesperson Brian Williamsen.
