A recent fundraiser for U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) was cancelled, but he’s doing well in his recovery from a stroke, according to one of his colleagues. A Kirk fundraiser that was to happen last week in Washington was postponed. It’s unclear if it was done for medical reasons, and a spokesman for another senator who was to attend said the postponement was because of scheduling conflicts.

U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert (R-Hinsdale) recently visited Kirk and says he is continuing his rehabilitation by walking on a treadmill but he is “the same old Mark Kirk,” she said. “He looks great. He’s back on his game. You know he has no problems …with his speech.”
Kirk suffered a stroke in January and has been rehabilitating ever since.
Biggert says Kirk is eager to return to the Senate but it is ultimately up to his doctors on when he can return.
