The 98th General Assembly was sworn in to office on Wednesday, with 41 new members of the House and Senate.  Republican Dwight Kay of Glen Carbon is returning for his second term, after unseating Democrat Jay Hoffman in the last election.  He says he will be taking on tort reform, worker's compensation and Illinois' stagnant business climate during the spring session.

He says while the state's pension crisis remains the most serious problem facing state lawmakers, there is plenty of other work to do, including gun control, same sex marriage, and gaming.
