The Southwestern Illinois Law Enforcement Commission honored Circuit Judge Charles V. Romani, Jr. on Wednesday evening by presenting him with the commision’s President’s Award in front of the Madison County Board.
Madison County Sheriff Robert Hertz who also serves as the President of the Board of Directors for SILEC shared a message from Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons during the presentation.
Romani says that this award is very special because of what SILEC does.
Romani served in the Vietnam War from December 1969 to August 1971 before he was appointed to the bench in 1983 where has served residents of Madison and Bond counties for 38 years. Judge Romani will be retiring when his term expires in November.
