The Jersey County Fair Parade steps off tonight at six through downtown Jerseyville to officially kick off the 147th County Fair.   Although the fair actually began Saturday with harness racing and livestock shows, most who attend will do so between tonight and Sunday's Demolition Derby.   The annual Talent Show will follow the parade, beginning around 8:15 at the grandstand.

There will be tractors, floats, livestock and beauty queen candidates making their way along the parade route.  Jersey County Fair Board President Phil Ringhausen says it will draw a big crowd, so get there early if you can.

Tomorrow night is the Jersey County Fair Queen Pageant.  Ringhausen says the fair includes plenty of free attractions in addition to the grandstand events.  The Bulls & Barrels Rodeo is set for 7pm on Thursday.  Friday and Saturday night will offer truck and tractor pulls.  For more information visit
