Jersey County Fair Parade steps off Tuesday night at 6:00 through downtown Jerseyville to officially kick off the 142nd County Fair.   Although the fair actually began Saturday with harness racing and livestock shows, most who attend will do so between tomorrow night and Sunday's Demolition Derby.   The annual Talent Show will follow the parade, beginning around 8:15 at the grandstand.

There will be tractors, floats, livestock and beauty queen candidates making their way from about the intersection of Routes 67 and 16 north to the fairgrounds.  Jersey County Fair Board Treasurer Tom Moore says the fair includes plenty of free attractions in addition to the grandstand events.  There is also a new event on Thursday at the grandstand- Freestyle Motocross.

Wednesday night is the Jersey County Fair Queen Pageant.  Friday and Saturday night will offer truck and tractor pulls.  Admission is $2 for adults and kids 12 and under get in free.  Parking is also free and ride bracelet specials are available once you are on the grounds.
