Recently completed Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement patrols have been deemed a success by the Illinois State Police. District 18 Commander Captain Collins announced the statistics from January’s patrols last week. He reports that there were no arrests made for driving under the influence and there was only one arrest made for drug or alcohol related offenses during the month. There were a total of 19 citations and 43 written warnings issued in January according to Collins.
Collins reminds future patrols will be conducted by the Illinois State Police who aim to save lives by taking DUI offenders off the road and arresting them. The project is funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Traffic Safety.
