The online auction of collectibles and other items owned by former Illinois congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. is on hold after doubts were raised about the authenticity of some of the items. The legitimacy of a guitar signed by Michael Jackson and Eddie Van Halen caused the U.S. Marshal's Service to cancel the auction while they conduct a secondary review of all the assets.
The items are up for sale to help Jackson pay back the 750-thousand dollars that he took from his campaign fund and spent on personal items. Jackson was sentenced last month to 2-and-a-half years in prison for fraud and making false statements.
