After being turned away when he tried to report early Monday, former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr. entered the Butner federal prison complex Tuesday morning.  Jackson has been assigned to the prison's minimum-security camp, the least secure part of the facility.  Jackson is serving a two-a-half-year sentence for misusing 750-thousand-dollars in campaign funds.

The Butner complex is also home to disgraced former Chicago police commander Jon Burge, rogue financier Bernie Madoff, and spy Jonathan Pollard and Butner was the prison where Chicago mobster Frank Calabrese Sr. died last Christmas.
