It's officially tornado season in Illinois, and a local expert says based on the last couple of years you should be ready for anything.  Historically, about two-thirds of tornadoes in Illinois occur during March Through June.

But local Skywarn Weatherspotter Training Coordinator John Nell says that hasn't been the case recently.

Also notable is that most recent tornadoes recorded in Illinois have struck in clusters, with 82% of the 35 tornadoes in 2014 occurring over just three days.  There have been no tornadoes recorded in Illinois so far this year.
