The Better Business Bureau reports a number of arrests of scammers involved in a scheme to misrepresent themselves as IRS agents. Police in India have arrested 70 people and are questioning hundreds more after uncovering a massive scam that may have bilked Americans out of several million dollars.
BBB Investigator Bill Smith tells The Big Z that the scam involved running fake call centers and trying to convince their targets to send money in order to "settle" their case.

The IRS has received fore than 900,000 complaints about these types of scams over the past three years. More than 5,000 people have fallen for the scam, losing a collective $26-million.
