Some lanes on I-270 will be restricted beginning Wednesday. IDOT workers will be replacing barrels and guardrails damaged by crashes. The work is set to begin on both the eastbound and westbound lanes mid-week, weather permitting.
The guardrails and crash attenuator barrels occasionally have to be either repaired or replaced. The hope of the Illinois Department of Transportation is to cause as little disruption to traffic as possible, so there will be times during peak traffic periods that no lanes will be closed. Traffic delays of 30-60 minutes can be expected during the course of the work, so you are asked to consider alternate routes.
