A business that moved to Godfrey a few years ago has finalized plans to consolidate its business at its Tolle Street Location. International Mulch will close its facility in Bridgeton, Missouri, after evaluating the cost of doing business in Godfrey vesrus Bidgeton. The Madison County Board authorized a
low-interest economic development loan that we first reported on in November, and it received final approval through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The loan is in the amount of $250,000, and will be used to assist in the $905,000 consolidation project. RiverBend Growth Association President Monica Bristow is excited about the news.
There are already 21 employees working at the former Owens-Illinois property. After the consolidation, an new product line will be added to the Godfrey operations. It's called rubber paper, and is commonly used to cover cracks in concrete.
