A Jerseyville businessman indicted by a Jersey County Grand Jury on solicitation of arson and solicitation of insurance fraud will undergo a drug, alcohol or mental evaluation.  Robert J. Hartmann's (pictured) arraignment hearing was postponed earlier this week, and he will not have to go in front of a judge again until February.  He was indicted in early November, accused of trying to hire a woman to set fire to a home in July in an attempt to collect insurance money.

Just hours after posting bond, he crashed his truck into a tree in Calhoun County and was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital.  Hartmann was not breathing and did not have a pulse when emergency personnel found him at the crash site, but was revived at the scene. The Calhoun County Sheriff said there were no skid marks left behind as the truck left the roadway and went head-on into a large cotttonwood tree.  Hartman is the husband of former Jerseyville Mayor and current city council member Yvonne Hartmann.
