It was a good night for Madison County incumbents. Every office-holder on the ballot was re-elected. Debbie Ming-Mendoza has been returned to the County Clerk’s office for a second term. However, the victory margin was less than 1000 votes out of more than 78,000 cast. But in the end, the Democrat incumbent defeated her Republican challenger Stephen Adler.
The contentious Madison County Treasurer’s race was won by Republican incumbent Kurt Prenzler, who defeated Democrat challenger Marleen Suarez by more than 11,000 votes.
Democrat John Lakin was elected Sheriff in an uncontested race.
