The City of Alton will spend the winter continuing upgrades to a number of parks according to the director of the Park and Recreation Department. Michael Haynes says a new pavilion has been built at James Killion Park at Salu and more sidewalk improvements will also take place throughout the winter.
Haynes says work will also continue on the renovation to the dollhouse at Haskell Park.

The funding for that work was provided by fundraising from the Haskell Playhouse Committee according to Haynes. He says the estimated timeline for that project will depend on the weather this winter.
In addition, Haynes reports that upgrades to Hopkins Field at Gordon Moore Park are also slated to take place this winter. The field has been regraded and Haynes says the winter months will be spent completing renovations to the press box and making additional changes to the configuration of the field.
