If you enjoy fishing at Gordon Moore Park in Alton, you may have noticed a bit more algae than usual on the surface of the water recently.  That issue is being addressed, according to the head of Alton Park & Recreation.  Executive Director Mike Haynes tells The Big Z the state is aware of the problem.

Haynes says city crews have cleared out some of the overgrowth along the banks of the lake, so there are now more fishable areas.  He says that is important to note, since fishing boats are not allowed on the lake.
