IMPACT CIL, or Centers for Independent Living, is hoping to get the word out about the Amplified Phone Program. To qualify for the program, you must be a legal resident of Illinois, have standard phone service in your residence, and can no longer hear on the phone.
IMPACT Independent Living Specialist Daniel Strohbeck says if you know someone who qualifies under those guidelines, have them come in and try out one of the specialized phones.
For more information on the program, call 462-1411. A $100,000 grant procured in 1985 helped found IMPACT, and has now grown into a $1,000,000 operation. It's now known as IMPACT CIL, or Centers for Independent Living.
