The stories we pass down to future generations are priceless, and a project of the Illinois secretary of state's office is preserving the stories of Illinois veterans and their families.
An annual ceremony celebrating the Illinois Veterans' History Project included something special: a medal given to World War II veteran Dale Hunter, who shared a couple of his philosophies with the crowd at the Illinois State Library in Springfield.
