Illinois officials are suing for-profit adoption centers that advertise in the state.  The state Attorney General’s Office filed the case yesterday in response to online ads that target people looking to adopt or encourages mothers to consider adoption.  The Illinois Adoption Reform Act took effect in 2005 and aims to take profit motive out the adoption process.

The “Chicago Tribune” says one mother was offered kitchen appliances as encouragement to give her child up for adoption.
