Illinois has the fifth-busiest interstate highways in the nation and the busiest in the Midwest.  The Federal Highway Administration's latest report says that in 2011, drivers racked up just over 31-billion-miles on Illinois' 23 interstates.  The busiest of the Illinois highways was I-90, with 306-thousand vehicles a day and three-point-six-billion-miles traveled in 2011.  

Nationwide, California has the busiest highways, followed by Texas, Florida and Ohio.
