Some members of the Illinois Republican Party will be skipping the Republican National Convention this week in Cleveland.  Governor Bruce Rauner and U.S. Senator Mark Kirk are staying home, but several members of Congress are attending.  Kirk has been openly critical of Trump’s comments regarding women and minorities.

Republican Congressman Rodney Davis is attending and thinks it’s important to rally behind Donald Trump in order to beat Hillary Clinton.  Davis tells the Big Z it should be an interesting week:

Local Republican Congressman John Shimkus will also attend.  Congressman Mike Bost will remain in the district but says he supports Mr. Trump.
