The number of people with diabetes in Illinois is expected to rise.   State public health director Doctor Lamar Hasbrouck says the number of adults diagnosed with diabetes rose 60 percent between 1995 and 2010, and will likely climb by another 25 percent by 2020.

Hasbrouck warns diabetes can lead to even more serious health problems like kidney failure, blindness, heart attack, stroke, and amputation.
