Two Illinois Congressmen are involved in a scheme to have U.S. trade sanctions lifted against the nation of Zimbabwe. Democrats Bobby Rush (pictured, top) and Danny Davis (pictured, bottom) apparently met with Zimbabwe dictator Robert Mugabe about the plan, and promised to share the information with then president-elect Barack Obama. The two then went on to co-sponsor the bill that would shake the sanctions.
They were lobbied by Chicago Political activist Prince Asiel Ben Israel and business developer C. Gregory Turner, but according to federal documents, Ben Israel and Turner never actually registered for a lobby license. Ben Israel and Turner are facing now facing federal charges.
