Dr. Russell Tepen, Bennett, Anderson, and BraveThe Illinois Education Association awarded two teachers at Alton High School a check for $1,000 to go towards planning a special day at the end of the year for students involved in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support, or PBIS, at the Alton School Board Meeting last night. The group is in association with the special education program at Alton High and plan to host a sports day in partnership with Special Olympics Illinois. Also at the meeting a few resolutions were passed regarding interfund loans.

Alton High teacher Keegan Bennett was joined by colleague Jordan Anderson in accepting the check and says they are looking forward to being able to put on the event.

Also at the meeting resolutions were passed unanimously for repayment of $450,000 for the Interfund Loan from Working Cash to Transportation and for a new Interfund Loan for $1 million, also from Working Cash to Transportation to be paid upon receipt of local property taxes from the 2015 levy.
