As waves of freezing rain, sleet and snow continue to push through the Riverbend transportation officials are urging motorists to avoid travel if possible. Monroe says IDOT has moved their generators, chainsaws and chains around the entire area to make sure they can handle anything the storm throws at them. He also reminds that it doesn't take much ice to create hazardous conditions on roadways and asks those who have to travel today to be patient and exercise caution by giving road crews plenty of room to work
