Several Republican Congressman are speaking out after President Obama’s speech on rebuilding the economy. Aaron Schock was among the group, that says no amount of presidential pivots and speech making will change the fact that too many Illinoisans are out of work. The unemployment rate in Illinois is nine-point-two percent.
On top of that, the GOP points out that Illinois has a full-blown budget crisis and sky-high taxes because of a government that makes all the wrong economic choices. The House Republicans say they’ve never strayed from their focus on creating jobs and strengthening our economy, pointing to their efforts on tax reform and jobs training. The group says they agree with the president that too many Americans are struggling, and they stand ready to work toward real, bipartisan solutions.
