Hot and humid weather will continue to cover the area this weekend, and local health experts continue to remind us to take it easy. If you have to be outside, take breaks from your work, drinking plenty of water and when you're done try to cool off gradually.
Laura Fowler is a Clinical Educator at OSF St. Anthony's Health Center and says in this heat, it doesn't take long to get overheated. She says when you go indoors you should try and cool off gradually.
Kids and the elderly are the most susceptible to heat related problems including heat exhaustion, and heat stroke, so health officials advise you make it a point to check on them regularly. For more high temperature safety tips, go to www.Ready.Illinois.Gov
