If you or someone who know is homeless and need a hot meal, new clothing, a shower and other services, you can get that today at the 7th annual Project Homeless Connect event. Homelessness takes on more forms than the stereotypical person living on the street. Anyone facing any form of homelessness is invited to the event in Collinsville.
David Harrison, the Continuum of Care Coordinator for Madison County Community Development, says the event has previously been held in Alton at the Salvation Army. He tells The Big Z there will be transportation available to anyone who needs it:

Harrison says there will be service providers and vendors there to offer information for veterans and those suffering from mental illness, along with food, beverages, clothing and haircuts. Again the event runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the St. John Evangelical United Church of Christ on West Clay Street in Collinsville. There will be busses leaving from the Alton Salvation Army, located at 525 Alby Street in Alton, at 9am and 11am.
