Illinois State Representative Jay Hoffman (D-Swansea) is calling on federal officials to restore funding to the FutureGen project. The feds pulled its $1-billion in funding last month. It is a project that was to be funded through a combination of public funding sources and private-sector investments.
Hoffman says the project could create over 1,000 Illinois jobs and generate billions of dollars in new economic activity.
