The search is on for new leadership at the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
A little more than a week after ALPLM director Eileen Mackevich quit, the IHPA board fired agency director Amy Martin.
The two didn't get along, and now they're both out.

Denying Gov. Bruce Rauner – who recently appointed him – directed the firing, IHPA chairman Jim Bruner said, “You'd have to ask him. We're a new committee, wanting to go in a new direction.”
The vote was 4-3.
IHPA counsel Garth Madison is interim director. “Initially, we need to focus on rebuilding our staffing levels, both at IHPA and at ALPLM,” he said. “We are significantly down in staff, we have started that process, and we need to continue that.”
Madison would not comment on whether the presidential facility should continue to be part of IHPA, though Bruner said he's not in favor of a split favored by the Speaker of the Illinois House.
Nadine O'Leary, the interim director of ALPLM, declined an interview request.
