High school students from across Illinois participated in the state’s first ever champions in competitive dance over the weekend. Metro-East Lutheran won in the 1A division, with Civic Memorial a close second. IHSA's Tracie Henry says contrary to what some believe, dance is a sport.
Two hundred-43 schools participated in the first-ever state series in competitive dance. Several of them took home championship titles. Crystal Lake Central won in 2A, with Triad High School 6th. Maine South won in 3A.
