Madison County Sheriff Robert Hertz has been given a new responsibility. He was appointed to the Madison County 911 Emergency Telephone System Board last week by the Madison County Board, which had a vacancy following the resignation of Granite City Fire Chief Tim Connolly.
Sheriff Hertz says he had a good reason for requesting that appointment.
