The next public meeting of a task force to try and address the continuing problem of heroin use in the area is coming up on April 4. An organizational meeting brought members of the law enforcement community together to lay out a plan about a month ago. Nearly two-dozen people died in Madison County last year of heroin overdoses
Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons says these meetings are meant to bring many different ideas to the table.

Friday’s meeting will be held at the Madison County Board chambers in Edwardsville at 1:30pm. Gibbons says the public is not only invited, but encouraged to attend.
