The next meeting of a task force created to try to reduce the number of heroin deaths in Madison County will be held tomorrow in Edwardsville. It will be the fourth public meeting since the task force was created in February. Past sessions have included presentations by the Madison County Coroner and other local officials but the goal of Friday’s meeting is to reach out to families who may be dealing with addiction.
Madison County State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons says those in attendance will hear from an intervention specialist and a father whose son struggled through heroin addiction. He says that’s a part of the heroin story we don’t often hear.
