You are being asked to spare an hour or so on Monday morning to help decorate the graves in the Oakwood Cemetery.  Service organizations, schools, churches, and families are being asked to help put flowers on soldiers' graves following the Alton Memorial Day Parade.

Pie Town Flower Guard Volunteer Connie Markley tells The Big Z they will be decorating 3,000 graves.

She says they cannot use artificial flowers anymore, as they would have to be picked up before the grass could be cut.  Girls between the ages of 10 and 20 are also needed to march as part of the Flower Guard in the parade.  For more information, call 462-0198 or 530-8730.
