Thunderstorms rolled across the area yesterday evening, bringing rain, wind and hail to the Riverbend.   Several inches of rain fell across the area since Wednesday night, soaking already saturated ground, and leading to overflowing creeks, ponds and in some cases roadways.

Storm spotters with The National Weather Service reported three-quarter inch to one inch in diameter hail through parts of Jersey and southern Macoupin Counties, with one report saying wind blown hail broke out windows in a home south of Jerseyville.   Heavy rain throughout the Riverbend flooded neighborhood roads, backyards and some basements last night.
