The 2015 Metro East Heart Walk is coming up next weekend at Gateway Motorsports Park. The goal of the heart walk is to raise funds to support cardiovascular research and educational programs in the Metro East and supporting communities, while promoting walking as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Organizers hope to raise just over $177,000 for research, public and professional education and outreach. Greg Schmittling, Cardiology Services Manager at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton tells The Big Z walkers will gather at the track in Madison at 8am on Saturday, with the walk to begin at 9:00.
