Riverbend Head Start and Family Services in Alton is celebrating a new grant that is being made possible through Delta Dental of Illinois.  The company has awarded nearly $100,000 to a dozen Illinois organizations.  Head Start will receive $10,000 for its Oral Health and Access Project.


Through the program, Head Start is able to help provide dental screenings, preventative care, cavity treatment and oral health education to more than 945 low-income and expectant parents up to 5 years old in Madison County.  Head Start spokesman Kristen Gosling:

She says Head Start is not just a child development organization, but also a family-strengthening agency.  This is the only Delta Dental grant given to an area agency.  If you would like more information, call 463-5950.
