With the Halloween holiday just around the corner many of Alton's haunted houses are opening their doors for haunted tours. Alton Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau President Brett Stawar says that the tours are a good way to get in the mood for Halloween.  There are tours of homes, cemeteries, businesses, and back this year is a school.

Stawar says the old Milton School in Alton has a storied past.

The Milton School event is October 4 from noon – 4pm.  The bureau is promoting a variety of tours of the city's haunted sites throughout this month. The tours are run by independent operators and range from visits to haunted sites to attempts at ghost hunting.  You can find out more about the different tour options though a link on this story at AltonDailyNews.com.
