There are plenty of places that are considered haunted around Alton. One of the places that is not hopes to conjure up a little of the haunted spirit this Saturday, as the National Great Rivers Museum is hosting its first Haunted Museum event from 6-9pm. The night will feature trick or treating, face painting, crafts, and a special presentation by a reptile handler.
Park Ranger Erin Hilligoss-Volkmann says Serengeti Steve will be performing a pair of shows.
There will also be a costume contest at 7:00, with awards for the cutest and scariest costumes, and a haunted tour of the Lock and Dam at 7:30. The cost to attend this event is $5, and proceeds will go to fund future educational programming at the National Great Rivers Museum. This event is open to all ages.
