A Rockford writer has spent years telling spooky stories for a living. “I consider myself to be a folk historian,” says Michael Kleen. “Their stories, their legends, their tales tell us something about the past.” It seems the interest in the paranormal and supernatural is greater than ever. “At least in the media, in the mid-90s, the interest sort of took off, especially after Ghost Hunters came on television,” Kleen says. “It creates a much wider audience for my stories to be heard.”
