One Riverbend village looking to grow is Hartford. The town that has for years been the home of the local refining industry has in recent years seen a couple of tourist spots pop up in the form of the Confluence Tower and the Lewis & Clark State Historic Site.
The village's Projects Manager, Deanna Barnes, says the future appears to continue to be a mix of industrial and tourism.
Barnes comments
The area where retail development is projected is called the Lewis & Clark Commerce Center. The project is in the stage where the village is looking for Requests for Proposals, with a due date on those set for February 6. She says a part of looking at the community as a whole will include addressing storm water issues.
