The City of Wood River has announced a backup plan for its annual Halloween Parade.  Scheduled for Saturday morning, the parade may be fighting inclement weather.  If that is the case, the parade will be rescheduled for Sunday.  The parade coordinator plans to make that announcement on their Facebook page is necessary.

The parade will line up at 9:30 and leave 6th Street Park at 10:30, according to Wood River Fire Department Parade Coordinator Brian Crawford.  He tells The Big Z you can still show up that morning and enter, but they are seeing more entries this year than they have in a long time.

Many people who march in or attend the Wood River Parade will travel a few miles down the road to enjoy the Hartford Halloween Parade, which starts at 1pm Saturday.  No rain date has been announced for Hartford.   The Alton Parade Saturday night will go on as scheduled rain, or no rain.  Watch for an Alton Parade update story later today!
