The former Colonial Bakery building on Landmarks Boulevard in Alton will soon be occupied again, with a gun shop receiving unanimous approval from the Alton City Council. After going before the Plan Commission a few weeks ago and answering a battery of questions, the full council gave approval to the business owner to complete the renovation of the building that has been vacant for a number of years.
Piasa Armory owner Scott Pulaski says it has been his dream to own his own store, after operating a small business out of his home.
Pulaski says all of the safety precautions will be followed as prescribed by law. The range will be open to the public, and FOID card holders will be able to rent firearms to shoot on the premises. He says there is no comparable facility within 45 miles, and could be open for business in January or February.
