An Alton man is heading to prison for two years following the beating of another man in the city earlier this year.  22 year old Mikkel Lumpkins of the 1000 block of Tremont pleaded guilty this week to mob action in connection with an incident in June where a man was stabbed and beaten at his residence.

Lumpkins pleaded guilty in exchange for three counts of aggravated battery being dropped in the attack on 41 year old Montigo Embry.  23 year old Montinez Knight and 21 year old Malik Lumpkins, both of Alton, have already pleaded guilty to aggravated battery in connection with the case and were each sentenced to two years of probation.  Authorities say the address on Tremont is a hang out for gang members called The Flyboyz, and is near Lovejoy School.  Alton Police have responded to the residence nearly 30 times over the past five years and the city has filed suit to have the home declared a nuisance property under a state law cracking down on alleged gang activity.
