An organization known for its spay / neuter program is taking on a new challenge.  The SNIP Alliance is gathering supplies and donations as it gets ready to launch the Riverbend Pet Food Pantry in about a month.  The first distribution date is planned for May 22 at its home at the Alton Public Works facility.

SNIP Alliance's Sandi Eaves tells The Big Z the inspiration came while talking to some struggling pet owners at a recent spay / neuter event.

Donations of pet food, food bowls, kitty litter, and cash are being accepted.  For more information call 660-4910.
