It's Small Business Saturday, and that means it's also time for the annual Green Gift Bazaar. The event, hosted by Alton Mainstreet and the Sierra Club is designed to promote local, eco-friendly businesses. Many of the same vendors will return again this year.  It will be held from 10am until 4pm at the Community Center.

The Sierra Club's Christine Favilla says this event helps people keep their money in the community.

Favilla comments

Favilla says organizers are paying closer attention to where goods originally come from and that if they are imported from outside the area, it will be harder for a vendor to get a spot at the event.  This year's bazaar will also have movie screenings, a kids area, and also have opportunities for you to recycle items such as old batteries and Christmas lights.
