The St. Louis Green Business Challenge is underway for 2013. The challenge is a collaboration of businesses of all sizes around the St. Louis area coming together to make sustainability a priority. Among the goals are energy & water conservation, waste removal and recycling, green team establishment, indoor environmental quality, and transportation alternatives.
Nate Keener, Director of Sustainability at Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey, says he has brought back some good ideas after networking with others at the kickoff meetings.
The next event will be the Earth Day Symposium - a two-day training and networking program for local government staff, officials and the professional community to provide continuing education in a specific topic, usually focusing on water quality and storm-water management.
